Mason City is a decent sized town that has a small town feel, yet has some big town stores and restaurant. I would still appreciate some more stores coming to town though!

Mason City is essentially a retirement community. We literally have magnified our street signs so the older folk can navigate easier. We are very cookie cutter, have limited night life and things to do as far as attracting younger people, and we're forever known as "River City" or the place where Frank Lloyd Wright built some houses and a hotel and then fled from town. We have a great art and music culture and local shops, but we could definitely expand and appeal more to our visitors instead of building more banks, car dealerships, and hotels.
Mason City is the home of Music Man Square, and it is also home to Frank Lloyd Wright buildings. It is a beautiful town that always has job opportunities available for those in search. The public school system has many opportunities for their students, and they never disappoint! I am rarely ever concerned for my own safety, although, there are numerous murders that have taken place in the past few years. It never takes long to get from point A to point B in Mason City!
