Overall Martinsville is a lovely small town that is spread far enough apart to feel somewhat like the "country" but close enough together to be able to be a close knit community. It is part of the Bridgewater-Raritain school district, the high school is one of the top regional high schools.
While the schools are very good in the area, they provide a highly competitive atmosphere for children and make life very stressful. Furthermore there is not a great community feel.
Weather is moderate overall. Flooding is an issue for people in certain neighborhoods, but I have never had a problem with it. Severe storms, winter and rain, can occasionally be an issue.
