Working in Martinsburg
Martinsburg is a great city to live in. Although down town may not be the best place, the suburbs are very safe and friendly. The houses are not too expensive, and their are many great food options near by. Martinsburg is also growing very quickly, and new businesses are popping up everyday. I have lived here for 15 years and highly recommend it!
This small city is a great place to live. It has affordable housing and the people are nice. The downtown has great old buildings and is on the upswing with new restaurants and retail. People are restoring old homes here, the place is undergoing a renaissance!
I have found the down town merchants to be super friendly and feel that they are working very hard to revitalize the area. Many of the historical buildings are truly stunning but sadly in need of renovation. There is a lack of decent retail choices with out having to travel to Maryland or Virginia, unless you only like shopping at Walmart, Kohl's or Target. Housing is affordable and overall living here is quiet. There needs to be more activities to do in the evening for all age groups. If your not from here, it takes a long time to be accepted. Don't talk religion or politics until you know your audience. The roads are awful and flood terribly but the traffic is minimal when compared to the metropolitan areas of Maryland and Virginia.
