Martindale Reviews

Martindale is home to many places that let you float the San Marcos river, and if you haven't ever tubed down that river (With Don's Fish Camp specifically) I believe you are missing out on one of the best experiences you will have. The housing there is almost all along the river, or within walking distance, and I have heard and seen nothing but good about the schools and child/family safety. This small town is nothing but good in my eyes.

Martindale is small and not much goes on, however there are about 6 bars located within five minutes around Martindale, which is not safe for very young children and makes for a lot of drunk drivers. On the up-side, Martindale is located directly in the middle of Kyle, San Marcos, and Lockhart which makes commutes to larger towns and cities less than a ten minute drive. There is also school bus pick-up and drop-off available for elementary and high school students. Most of the homes are trailers and a few small houses. Large houses are not common. The community is small and overall pretty friendly.
