I love Marion because of the school that I attend there; the atmosphere on campus is amazing and very encouraging. A lot of the small businesses in town are very nice and I have built relationships with many shop owners that I frequently visit. Sadly, the economy is depressed in Marion and a lot of the town is in disrepair. I would love to see the people of Marion re-invest in their community to see the economy flourish in the future!

Where to begin...? Marion wasn't always all that bad, back when we had factory jobs fueling our local economy. Once those shut down and moved away, the trouble started. Small businesses hardly have a chance here; there is very little in the ways of entertainment (we walk around Walmart for fun); and we are smack in the middle of the opioid crisis.

We do, however, have a few nice things. Indiana Wesleyan University has a really nice campus on the south side of town. It's nice to just walk around there and forget about where you live. We also have a pretty nice garden area in our city park.

All in all, I would not recommend living here.
Marion has been through changes, with the mall closing and several abandoned houses and buildings being torn down. It has become a college town with small businesses slowly popping up. Marion needs more small, local business along with more activities for the youth.
