There's so much to do here, no matter how old you are. The food is great, the nightlife is cool. The parks are amazing! They just built a stadium so the traffic has increased but there are plenty of back roads and side streets to take. There are plenty of schools around - most having average or higher ratings. This town is very diverse and most places are super safe.

I grew up in Georgia, specifically the Marietta area. One of the few original "georgia peaches" that you'll find! Atlanta and the metro areas have grown significantly over the past 20-30 years. There are wayyy more people and the state/roads can't keep up. Commuting around town is AWFUL. Be prepared to sit in traffic no matter where you go & no matter what time of day. We have Rush Hour which is anytime between 3pm and 7pm...which is when traffic is typically the worst...but like I said before, traffic can be bad at the most random times too. Construction on interstates & side streets is continuous. The most popular thing right now is taking small towns & practically tearing them down to build new townhomes & restaurants/shops for that eat/shop/live community. They're super cute, don't get me wrong. But adding more traffic & more people & the cities just can't handle it. Thus the horrible traffic EVERYWHERE!!
I have lived in Marietta for six years, and it truly is a wonderful community to be a part of. During the summer the outdoor concerts in the square bring the whole community out to socialize and enjoy the warm Georgia evenings. There are so many places to visit and things to do here, and the people are so friendly. My new favorite activity is painting rocks and placing them around town while I'm out for people to find as part of #CobbCountyRocks. It's such a fun way to get the community involved and brighten someone's day, and the kids LOVE it! Surrounding communities also have similar groups, and we welcome everyone to join in the fun!
