Marianna is a fairly nice place to live if you're already well established in your career or looking to retire. It is a small community with a bit of a slow pace to it. Nice, laid back, friendly atmosphere overall.
It is better for older folks, as this is not a good town for starting career prospects. The economy is quite poor; many young adults have jobs that pay only $11/h.
There is NO "night life" as to speak of. There is really only one bar, and it is new. Aside from that, most establishments in town close early.
That being said, it has essentially everything you'll need: A handful of excellent local restaurants, a lot of cheap fast food options, a couple gyms, plenty of outdoor recreation opportunities, spas, boutiques, dollar stores, groceries, and a Walmart.
However, the local hospital is absolutely horrible! Be mindful of that.

Marianna is an okay place to live. It is situated between three fairly large cities, Dothan, Tallahassee, and Panama city. This means an hour drive any time you want to do something besides going to the grocery store or the park. The economy is not excellent or anything, the food options are mostly fast, and there are probably more cows than people. But there are a lot of springs and kayaking spots in the surrounding area, and a plethora of churches, dollar generals, and hardware stores. In my opinion, Marianna is the perfect town for elderly people. It seems to always be about a decade or two behind the times anyway. So anyone seeking to raise a family who is not a doctor of some sort would be much better off living an hour away in Panama city or Tallahassee. Because truly the only reason you should live here is if you are searching for a slow, consistent life with almost no traffic because no one has anything better to do than watch tv, go to Waffle house, or go to church.
Been living here for about a decade now. There is no hurry to change in this town, it's a good place to sit down and make no progress either forwards or backwards. Housing is relatively cheap, it's an hour from anything entertaining that isn't a river our our three screen cinema, and even the criminal element of town has more manners than the average person.
Good place to raise children, good place to settle. Good place to retire, if half the population is to be believed. Good place to find yourself, good place to have friends.
Bad place for privacy. I've lived in quite a few places and I've never seen more noses being poked into my business.
