I don't love Manor. I just really dislike it. Manor had affordable housing prices for a quick move (not any more however), but that's all it have going for it. Because of the cheap housing market, it attracts EVERYONE. The school systems are pretty horrible. Can't escape kids with bad parenting. They don't learn while in school, and teachers are overrun with the amount of students in their classroom. Because of the spike in population, the commute to leave Manor is strainious at 6am, just as much to come back home into Manor starting at 3pm! We don't spend anytime in this town, as we spend our time and money in the next town over- Pflugerville. I would not recommend living here unless you're single, don't want kids, work remote, love driving and are an introvert.
I have lived in Manor for the past 15 of my 17 years. I very much dislike this town. I appreciate it for being a relatively safe and affordable place for my family to have to live, but, the town itself is rather unsavory. Firstly, a highway runs right through the town with a toll road dumping traffic into the busiest intersection. Manor is a small town, without any of the preferable small-town qualities. There is no town center or any local businesses for that matter, save 4 restaurants. It is almost impossible to walk anywhere in the town, as there are almost no sidewalks and anything you would actually want to go to is far away. The homes are split into 5 or 6 subdivisions, so if you're a youth with friends, it's very likely you are not able to see those friends outside of school very often. Manor is plagued with many issues, all of which contribute to the entirely uninspiring and depressing nature of living here.
One of the most underrated neighborhoods in Austin area. It is very close to Austin downtown and currently has undervalued prices for houses. Shadowglen community is very safe and secure. Tesla and Samsung have set up multibillion dollar facilities very close to Manor and soon there will be a huge influx of employees who would prefer to stay very close to their offices as most of the employees are required to work on-site. If you are looking to buy a new house, Manor should be a perfect bet.
