The overall experience in this area is very mixed. There is not a lot to do here except eat out. The food scene is absolutely fantastic here. There are hundreds of choices in the area. If I had to, I would raise my children here or live here again. Although not my first choice, I am very luck to have lived here and appreciate all my parents were able to do for me. For the future, I do not imagine my neighborhood lasting much longer. Many companies have been building high-density housing in the area attracting many people from the inner city. In recent years also, Lancaster has had its highest rate in hard drug rate.
in PA winter is the worst season. Temperatures can become very low, causing pipes to freeze. Icy conditions cause down power lines leaving persons without power for days and generators being scarce for all who need them. PA is not the worst state with this issue but we are affected. Have to always have the needed clothing during this time year ie: heavy coats, scarves, gloves, boots. Summers are good in this state. Occasionally with our humidity it can be hard to breath in the upper 90 degrees, so its always important to stay hydrated and not to wear dark colored clothing. The fall season seems to be our rainy season. We often have street floods or flooded basements. Sump pumps can be hard find if you dont already own one. Spring is awesome. The weather is just right.
