Manhattan is an amazing town! I have lived here for more than a decade and loved most of my time here (minus my teen years but that's normal). It's small enough to feel quaint and cozy but large enough to have a lot to do even after a decade. The only downside is the cost of living. Because there is a military base near by and a university, the housing is expensive (renting and buying) and daycare is a nightmare. There are a lot of small towns surrounding the city so housing can be manageable if a small commute is within question.

Manhattan is an awesome community and before you leave, you will end up owning something purple! Manhattan locals love and support their local college K-state and the Military.
Manhattan is a not too big but not too small and a very friendly Midwest community.
My family and I moved here in July and we felt very welcomed by everyone we encountered.
I have no complaints about Manhattan ks.
Lived here since birth, so I'm biased, but since it's a college town, there's always something happening and it's very diverse. You can either live in town or on more of the outskirts. It is quite expensive to live there though, so most people don't live directly in town except for college and military people.
Still wouldn't change it for anywhere else though! <3
