Manchester is a pretty safe town, keeping a small town atmosphere while also having a variety of businesses, both on its own and because of it being next to Augusta. Those businesses are pretty unique for a small town, like a seafood/wine/cheese shop, a YMCA, and a greenhouse. The local ice cream shop draws a lot of people(it is really good after all). Also tasty is the Pizza Stone, obviously a pizza restaurant, but they also offer sandwiches and salads. There are 3 convenience stores, and Mulligan's is the hub of them-they recently upgraded, but it still feels like your neighborhood store(they even have a Dunkin Donuts!). I'm not familiar with the elementary schools, but the high school experience was decent as they try to strengthen students with focus time(a period where you visit a teacher for help) and lots of dual enrollment classes. The people here are mostly friendly, and the town has a liberal vibe. The scenery is enjoyable too; some beautiful secluded roads and farmland.

A great small town community feel, has great lakes giving the true Maine living experiance, an amazing place to raise kids!
Manchester is a small town right outside of Augusta. We're about 20 minutes away from a large variety of shopping stores. Our elementary school is family friendly and the teachers are amazing. It's a small town that's family friendly and everyone watches out for each other.
