- Town in New York
Rating 3.5 out of 5 12 reviews
This is a small town which has its pros and cons. There is not much diversity in terms of race. But everyone generally knows a lot of people within the town. Malone has a lot of history to it. This was the last stop of the underground railroad.
Malone is a small community. Everyone knows everyone. There is not much to do but it seems to be the place to retired if you like the Adirondacks. There is beautiful scenery and lots of outdoor activities.
One thing I do like about Malone is that we are considered mountainous, however it feels like the plains all around the outside of Malone for a few miles, but there is so much nature once you go a little bit outside of town. There’s a lot of problems here though. Most of the population is on welfare and they all have many kids, encouraging their young kids to have kids. There’s a lot of stds going around because of so much sex, substance and drug abuse as well. Also, you’ll need a really reliable car because there are so many potholes. Winter lasts about 9 months so make sure you have more warm clothes than anything. Jobs are hard to find here as well, and college bound intellectuals even more so because the schools aren’t decent quality(lots of drugs and sex going through). There’s also a lot of cows up here! I hope to see less drugs and young teen pregnancies in this town someday.
Malone is a quaint town in the heart of Upstate New York. Located in the Adirondacks there is much fun to be had in the beautiful outdoors. From skiing in the winter to hiking in the summer, if you like to lead an active life then Malone is for you. The small-town environment only adds to the magic of Malone, a place where everyone knows everyone else and you feel welcome even walking through the grocery store.
Malone is a great place to live, but there is some down side to it. The job market is not the great unless you are in corrections or in the health care field. The up side it is family oriented and has a ski mountain close by.
Pretty low quality town, not big enough to separate the higher quality sections from lower quality sections. Everything is really far away.
there's is a lot that needs to change here, we got no local business because of big corporation stores, so we have low job opportunities and night-life is unsafe cause we have druggies about going for their fix
There are lots of abandoned houses.
Our community is very friendly.
I would live here again. It is very friendly and small.
