Mahopac is a quaint town. There isnt really any crime, but theres also nothing to do here. In my school we have a gigantic music department. I participate in the music production, music theory, rock ensemble, drama and marching band aspects. Rock ensemble, marching band, and drama have all given me a greater sense of teamwork and unity with people who enjoy those activities as much as I do. Thats my favorite thing about mahopac, our schools. I am extremely fortuante to have grown up in a very comforting safe, area of new york. Just close enough to the city to be able to go there, but far enough away that we dont get the bad things.

Mahopac is a nice place to raise a family. The schools are good and the town is family friendly. There are many recreation and sports activities for children and families. It is a pretty safe place and has a country suburban feel. There are farms on the outskirts, but we are still close enough to shop, dine and take advantage of everything New York City has to offer. Many of the jobs are in NYC which makes commute time long, with jobs further away. Located in Putnam County, we are just North of Westchester County which is one of the most expensive counties in the country. Taxes are high here, and the cost of living is much higher than the national average.
The schools in Mahopac are nothing too special but they all get the job done and that's what matters. There's plenty of pizza places and nail salons to go around and the town of Mahopac has a several things to do. Other than pizza places, there's plenty of other places to eat like Bliss, China Garden, Anthony's Deli and Kobu which is hibachi and has phenomenal Asian food. There's a cute park in town but the lake is what Mahopac is really known for. It's kind of gross but people love boating and swimming in it. A suggestion I have is to open a movie theater or bowling alley so we don't have to go to Carmel to have fun.
