I have lived in Magna for 7 years now and moved here from Salt Lake City to get away from the traffic in the inner city. Magna is not a bad place to live and is a nice place to live if you want to get away from city traffic and hectic-ness of city life, but yet still close enough to drive in for work or to go shopping. We have good schools and a community sense where town people tend to care about others when they are in need. Yes, we have crime and gangs, but it is no more worse than in other cities in our state. You can step out your door and smell the fresh air and at times see a beautiful deer casually walking by your house looking for something to eat. We have had good experience with the schools here that my children attended and some great teachers that really cared about our children's success. We have had a lot of new development in last couple years, both restaurants and housing which is both good and bad. Overall Magna is a great place to live!

Nice small town. Downtown main street does not have much to offer, but West Valley and Salt Lake City are an easy drive and have everything you will need. The community is nice and far enough away yet close enough to downtown Salt Lake. Nicely located close to airport! Beautiful scenery all around and wonderful weather.
Magna is an old township that had its golden days back in the 50s and 60s. Magna has gotten a bad reputation because of gang activity, burglary, shoot-outs, violence-- all kinds of crime-- but many residents are diligent about trying to fight crime and fight make the township a better place to live. Magna Main Street used to be a ghost-town, but a new library, post office, and retirement home were built, followed by a tattoo shop that holds a large annual street fair, and little-by-little businesses have been returning to the shops.
