I have loved living in Luverne MN. The people are so friendly and the community is always willing to help a family in need. The public school system is great, the teachers are supportive and always find a way to help students on a more personal level. The atmosphere in Luverne is always prideful. They take great pride in keeping their town looking nice and making sure that they continue to update to keep it looking brand new. This town has so much history, from main street to the Blue Mound State Park, there is no better place to live or raise a family!
I have grown up in Luverne and have lived here my whole life. I love the atmosphere and sense of community this town brings. The diverse options for activities are also splendid. There is hiking at the beautiful Blue Mound State Park, canoeing down the Rock River, relaxing and watching a movie at the Verne Drive in, and enjoying delicious meals at JJ's drive in. The local chamber hosts a series of events throughout each month and the history in the town is amazing. The Historic Palace Theater, the Brandenburg Gallery, Herreid Museum, Hinkley House, Blue Mound State Park, and the Carnegie are just a few places. There is also a great lake to enjoy your summertime days where you can fish, kayak, or just float around and swim. The school system is also great and provides great education and activities for the children. Overall, Luverne is a great place to raise a family and make a forever home.
We moved to Luverne because there were no rental properties where we previously lived in Rock Rapids, Iowa, where my husband works. Luverne was close to Sioux Falls and work, a safe community with affordable housing, and a vibrant community with many local small businesses. We bought a home here in 2013 and hope to stay here. While this is not a diverse community, people are welcoming, and there are many places to live, shop, and work here or within the nearby small towns.
