Lugoff is a small town located between Columbia and Camden in South Carolina. I love living in Lugoff and attending Lugoff Elgin High School. I have had some of the best hands on opportunities through my high school in the area of Early Childhood Education which is what I want to do when I graduate from college! I feel like it's small enough so that you know lots of folks and its easy to run into someone you know everywhere you go. Folks here are friendly and welcoming so whether you've been here your entire life or are new to this town, you will be welcomed with open arms! One thing I really love here is the small town feel with easy access to the country or the city. We are only about 20 minutes from Columbia, an hour or so from Charlotte, NC and the best part is that the beach and the mountains are only about a two hour drive away. There is plenty of access to fun things within a short amount of time if you are looking for something to do! Lugoff really is a great place to live!
I would like the city to expand a little and offer more activities and fun things to do. I like the real estate here, very affordable housing. The commute time to the city can be a hassle but on a good day it only takes about 20 min to get to Columbia. The local stores are unique and offer really interesting things to buy and look at. People here are friendly overall and inviting. I love going fishing at some of the areas surrounding lakes and enjoying the scenery and wildlife. There are a lot of deer in this area and they love to come out at night so speeding down a road at night wouldn’t be the best idea lol. The school down the street from me (wateree elementary)has recently been remodeled and my brother and sister really like the new building, gym, and playground they have. The recreation park around the corner from me has a nice playground as well and even has a trail to walk or run on, as well as a tennis court! I’m hoping they build a basketball court soon as well!
Lugoff is a very small, suburban town, sandwiched between the state capital, Columbia, and historic Camden. Because of it's historical value, a lot of the locals are forced to be stuck in their ways and changing peoples way of thinking is very hard to do.
