Lucasville is not a known place. People come up to you and ask you where you're from. "Lucasville" we say. They stare at you with a blank look of nothingness. You automatically know they have no idea where you're from.
Lucasville has had many drug problems. We even have a special part of town called the bottom's. In which a place of tiny homes live off of needles, drugs and food stamps. It is unbelievable to see. People dread the bottoms and most think it is an unnecessary part of town.
As you drive through the streets you see people cracked out, talking to themselves and, even sometimes screaming at nothing. You think to yourself, I wonder if other towns are like this too? Many people are scared of going to grocery stores or even a simple dollar store because there are always people looking for drugs.
Lucasville is a small town filled with small people. The ground is filled with needles and beer cans. It is not a safe town.

Lucasville only has a population of about 3,000 people, which is a very small about for a town. However, this is great if you want to feel a good sense of community. Everyone knows everyone which makes you feel connected to the town itself. If you lived in a bigger town/ city then you won't make as much of a connection with the area than a small town. Lucasville is my home and always will be.
I have lived in Lucasville my whole life, and have been a part of a tight-knit community as a result. Lucasville is a very small town, and everyone knows each other, which can be both a pro and a con. I have always felt relatively safe in town, though theft can be a concern. Another issue that needs to be addressed is the lack of jobs and the opioid epidemic that has taken over the area. As a result of both of these things, many people are reluctant to move in to town, and starting a new business can be tough. One positive thing about Lucasville is Valley Local School district. As someone who attended Valley from kindergarten through 12th grade, I have found that the faculty at Valley are helpful and supportive, no matter whether they are at the elementary, junior high, or high school level.
