I have lived in Loyalsock Township for almost all of my life. Living here has been a great experience. It is an extremely safe and tight-knit community, that is filled with friendly people. Children are provided with a great education and a safe environment to grow up in.
This is a middle class area. Most property owners take pride in their homes. Unfortunately, this area is in a flood zone which means if you have a mortgage on the house, you must carry flood insurance. The cost of this insurance has almost doubled for anyone new trying to buy in this area. So unless they pay cash for the house which means you don't have to have flood insurance, most houses are not able to sell due to the high cost of this insurance. The only good thing about past flooding, it has gotten rid of a lot of the rundown properties.
