I am a fan of cities; I always have been. On the contrary, I live in Lovettsville, a small town with a population slightly over 2500. I moved to Lovettsville at the age of three, meaning I hardly remember a time that I didn't live here. In general, it's a quaint town with few possibilities, but it's working hard to expand. In the past few years, several restaurants have been added, including Thai, Mexican, and Chinese restaurants. Rumor has it there will be a grocery addition within the next few years!
Lovettsville is quiet, yet charming. As I've previously stated, I am not cut out for a rural lifestyle, which is what you will be living if residing here. My biggest complaint is the obvious lack of diversity. White people primarily live here, which I am hoping will change. However, the people are lovely and it's hard not to fall in love with it. It's there in the title! LOVEttsville!
I may be a city girl through and through, but Lovettsville will always be my first home.

Lovettsville has a small and close community. Mayfest and Octoberfest are very fun for people of all ages. When there's not corona happening, they have movie nights in town during the summer. There's not much to do but we do have a variety of yummy restaurants to eat at. There is also the annual small carnival that is super fun to go to! It is a very safe environment to live in but with that comes more expensive living. In order to get to somewhere with something to do, it is about a 30-minute drive. Luckily, Brunswick (a town just next to Lovettsville) has a grocery store if we forget something for dinner.
I have loved living in this small town. I have met so many amazing people that have helped shape me into the young adult I am now. The town has really grown since I first moved here in 2010, there have been new buildings and the town has overall become a very populated area. Everything, such as the elementary school, gas station, restaurants, community centers, and churches are all within about a five minute drive. The location of the town isn't too bad either, Maryland and West Virginia are about a ten minute drive, which is also convenient for grocery shopping. Lovettsville is also extremely family friendly, there is virtually no crime happening unless you count driving 27 mph in a 25 mph school zone. The nightlife consists of holiday events, movie night on the pavilion, old rock bands performing, or the annual Oktoberfest that our little town loves so much.
