The area is so nice, it has everything that a suburban town has, nice local shops, big houses, farmers markets but it also has things like the Apple Store, lululemon, Starbucks and many other places similar to those chains which is very useful. The weather is pretty good, we still have seasons but it gets nice and hot in summer, and still cold but not freezing in the winter. The public schools here are very good for public education, they are big (the high schools have around 500+ pupils per year) and the kids seem to have support from guidance councillors easily accessible. It is also a very walkable town, with a cinema, frozen yogurt place and many small businesses in the main town. A lovely farmers market is held there as well, with very fresh produce being sold. Overall, Los Gatos is great town, however it is very pricey making it not ideal for some people so it is something to take into consideration.
I adore Los Gatos for its strong sense of kinship among residents and the diversity among its local businesses and restaurants. The town has its familiar cast of odd eccentric characters which accentuate its charming atmosphere. Although small, it is the familiar stomping grounds for large tech companies and innovative start-ups, which provide opportunities for teens to learn valuable skills that are in high demand in the workforce. However, as a local high schooler, I have experienced first-hand my teachers' strikes against their extensive work hours that are not properly reflected in their low wages. As a result, my school district loses qualified and passionate educators as they seek better compensation and working conditions elsewhere. Furthermore, there's little transparency as to what the district funds using its budget. I want to see the district engaged in creating fair and competitive salaries for teachers, ensuring their dedication toward fully educating future generations.
It's a beautiful town with lots of things to do downtown. The high school and middle school here are wonderful and everyone is welcoming and friendly.
Los Gatos is a city that is incredibly safe with great scenery and venues. The community is welcoming and eager to help out. However, the issue of affordability is prevalent with the prices of housing being especially expensive though restaurants and commercial shops also have a price tag on the higher end.
I love the people here and the promenade in Downtown Los Gatos is so fun! A safe neighborhood and lots of places to do things.
Great, the people are very nice. if they are mean then they just don't say it to your face, so at least you feel better.
Los Gatos is a great location for families looking for a safe area to live, with multiple high ranked schools. As a student in Los Gatos High, I really enjoyed growing up here. The schools, parks, library, and downtown are all within walking distance from one another making Los Gatos a very tight nit community. Although there is not much diversity the people are very welcoming to new people with different cultures and backgrounds.
Nice community, overall nice people, and good schools, but extremely expensive. Downtown Los Gatos has a lot of good eats and fun activities.
Los Gatos is a quaint suburb of San Jose, it has some great outdoor spots while also being close to large cities like San Jose and San Francisco. Most high schools in the area are ok- each has its ups and downs. Once you find your own community in Los Gatos, it's a really nice place. Although, as part of the Bay Area, expectations are high all around, in schools, jobs, and even social life.
Los Gatos is a very nice, clean, and safe city. It's surrounded by mature trees and the style is reminiscent of small towns on the east coast. A great place to stop by and check out.
Between the beautiful hikes and idyllic shops downtown, Los Gatos is a great place to live for any type of person - those who are tech-savvy workers in Silicon Valley, retirees enjoying a view of the rich mountainous landscape, or someone in between. Additionally, Los Gatos is an access point to many other towns and cities nearby, with San Jose, San Francisco, Santa Cruz, and many more locations to do fun activities. Despite a bit of a lack of diversity and considerably high prices for many wares, residents are friendly and proud of their cozy, mountainous town.
Amazing community. The people are all very nice and welcoming. We instantly fit in, made friends, and got involved. The schools are fantastic. There’s a real sense of pride among the residents.
I have been living in Los Gatos for the last 9 years. I love the community feel. My kids are in public schools and I feel safe. Commute is awful though....
Los Gatos is a great family-friendly town. It is in a fantastic area close to the beach, shopping and San Francisco.
Los Gatos is a small suburb of San Jose. Downtown Los Gatos has a small-town feel with quaint shops and a few nice eateries. The public schools are very good compared to other schools in San Jose. The only negative is the cost of living. It is very difficult to find affordable housing in the area.
It’s a nice little town, I just wish there was more diversity. Other than that, there’s lots of nice food places and shops to go to.
Los Gatos has been the perfect home for me and my family. It is quaint and has a small town vibe without losing any of the opportunities of a large city. Major attractions are only an hour away, such as Santa Cruz and San Francisco.
