The city of Longview could be so much better.Longview has a sense of pride among its people and a sense of community. But it is also divided, we have what people believe to be good parts and bad parts of "the view". we have pinetree area that is harassed and plagued with cops, which is the "good side" of town. Meanwhile on the otherside they hand out tickets like candy to trick or treaters. There is community and pride but no sense of unity! This city is the box that all the crabs pull each other down to try and escape and only few do. Lately it looks as if gentrification is coming, with the restoration of down town. But its way more heart and soul in longview other than down town. Spread the resources. Stop building the same stores over and over. Give the Young Adults things to do , Places to go , things to see. I mean would new restaurants and activity centers be too hard to ask for? Longview could be so much better if we came together and made change.
Longview is a great place to start a family at! The environment is peaceful for a city, and very country for your southern taste. You will find a lot of nice schools near by and locally, even as far as colleges and universities go. There are beautiful parks and lakes around and in town, and lots of our favorite restaurants to grab a quick bite or have a night of with family and friends! We have other forms of entertainment too, like theaters and inside arcades, racing go carts, and even trampolines! We have hospitals, dental cares, beauticians, and many other types of other offices and business to take care of your personal needs. Longview has it all!
Longview is about as "East Texas" as it gets. It is a super small town, but easily feels like home. There are two parts of town (the good part, and the bad part), but as long as you just mind your business and do not get into any trouble, there is nothing to worry about. Oh, and did I mention - Longview has EVERY restaurant you could ever think of, all on ONE road (loop 281)??? It is every person's dream! Being from Houston, Texas though, I do wish that H-E-B would find its way to Longview, that would be the cherry on top! But to sum it up, Longivew is a great town for people of all ages and occupations. Its a good college town, a good family town, and a great town for the retired!
