Longmeadow is my chosen hometown. It's very safe here and people are friendly. As a liberal Democrat, I enjoy the very active Democratic town committee and other activist groups. The schools here are excellent and I appreciate that my fellow residents value the importance of education. I even love the Longmeadow News newspaper and enjoy the local access channel. Nightlife isn't important to me and there are enough restaurants in town to enjoy and if I want to go to a cinema, go to other restaurants, Springfield and Enfield are only 5 minutes away

It literally blows my mind that people want to live in this town and that it's listed #1 best place in western mass. This town is filled with rich and snooty folks, it's EXTREMELY expensive, in the crappiest area (borders an awful and dangerous part of Springfield), has no real community and is the cookie cutter suburbs. To each their own I guess.
A friendly, upscale town, Longmeadow has a great school system and a variety of restaurants and shops. There are sidewalks in most neighborhoods and good value for the tax dollar. Located between Springfield, MA and Hartford, CT, it is easy to get to these cities as well as Boston and New York.
