Lockport Township Reviews
Lockport is a quaint little historic town. It has lots of places that the underground railroad went through and a canal that goes along it. The housing is cheap although the houses themselves are mostly very nice and some are very big. Downtown is lovely and it's only 40 minutes from Chicago. They have canal days for two weeks, steampunk festivals often with live music, and the best haunted house I've ever been to! Lockport is a great place to live and raise a family.
Lockport is a safe area to live in. The high school is amazing and offers several extracurricular activities. There are many grocery stores to choose from and small owned business to shop at. The expressway is close by. I wish Lockport had more sit down restaurants to choose from and more options for family activities.
Lockport Township is fairly large town, but it feels like a close-knit community. People are generally friendly, and there is always something to do. The one thing that I would for them to change is to add more public spaces such as parks and monuments.
