Lockport NY has a town and a city. It is known for its locks that lead to the Erie canal. I love all its historical features, from the man made locks to the old bulidings. it is a town where everyone pulls together. It is close to buffalo and Niagara falls NY .All so it is near Canada. There is always things to do.I love the four seasons .in the summer we can tour the canal and the underground caves or take a boat ride .in the winter we can sled down the snowiest hills.I love lockport NY.

The housing in the Town of Lockport has many great properties with people taking care of their homes. There is alot of land between the homes, even in the developments. In the City of Lockport it is a totally different story, there alot of landlords who rent their properties and do not take care of them. They also do not care who they rent to.In the City of Lockport there are a fair amount of damaged and abandoned properties. The housing prices in the town of Lockport are very reasonable. The housing prices in the city of Lockport are reasonable, but you have to do alot of work to fix them up. The property and school taxes in Lockport are very high. For the prices in taxes that you pay, you are really not getting alot as there are few jobs, few stores to shop at and not a variety of restaurants. People from other areas do not come into this area to buy homes as there is not alot to do here. Sure they can get the same house in Lockport for alot less than in other areas, but they choose to live in other cities in Western Ny where there is a better quality of life with more to do.
The neighborhood that I live in is very nice, with people who take care of their homes and raise nice families. The neighbors are all pretty friendly. The sense of community in my neighborhood is good. Most of the families have pets. I live in the Town of Lockport that has a better quality of life than the City of Lockport. The City of Lockport can be pretty rough in certain areas with crime and people not taking care of their properties. The Town of Lockport to live in is great, but the City of Lockport is pretty bad.
