Walkability needs greatly improvement. More community parks , outdoor activities. Also need professional sports and colleges. Use of the Chattanooga riverfront for walking, biking,
shopping and restaurants. More upscale restaurants and stores. More Activities for 25 to 45 yrs. Great school system. Very diverse. Conservative and moderates.

Lithia Springs is a small town right outside of the larger Douglasville community. The train goes right through town, right past the school and First Baptist church. It's not the kind of town you'd think much about as you drive through it. It’s not income rich – the Dollar General, Food Depot, and Little Caesars all attest to that. But off the main highway is a nice collection of neighborhoods where several communities of down-to-earth people live our everyday lives. There’s the new mom down the street who volunteers at a clinic and a retired neighbor who spent a career at the AJC printing press. Of course there are things we'd like to change. Let’s bring some nightlife to our town, add a good burger joint, and fill up the empty office buildings on the highway.
Schools are fairly decent, some are degrading and need an overhaul while others are brand new and have more amenities and opportunities for the children attending. The night life isn't all that intriguing as there are a few bars and not much else unless you want to travel to a nearby city or township. Job opportunities in the area are fairly lacking for anyone that is no longer in school and has yet to obtain a college degree. During normal commute times you will have to plan accordingly as the roads can get pretty congested for the typical 9-5 commute being so close to Atlanta. However being so close to Atlanta it is a fairly safe and quiet area to live in and is cheaper than living in Atlanta.
