I loved growing up here! I had great friends and always felt safe. I often ran around the neighborhood with my track team as a distance runner and enjoyed exploring the area. There is an amazing selection of stores and restaurants for the size. While many will travel to bigger areas, you literally have everything you need there. The schools aren't amazing, but not bad. I still had an ACT just under 30, so it provides the resources, if you have the drive. The historic Carnegie Library and Drive-Inn theater are some of my favorite things about town. There is also bowling, movie theater, tons of parks, public pool and Lake Lou with a beach. Housing is super cheap there too! The downside would be the train tracks that divide part of the town.

Litchfield is a small community between Springfield and St. Louis. We are a small farming town with a big heart. We have had many tradgies in our small town, everyone knows everone. When these tradigies strike, we all come together as one to help families. I love growing up in a small town, and I hope one day I can raise my own family here.
I graduated from Gillespie High School, but for part of my junior and senior year, I lived in Litchfield, and I live there now. Compared to Gillespie, it is a city, but compared to Springfield, it's a small town. I like Litchfield because there are plenty of places to go without driving an hour, but it's still small enough that no matter where you go, you'll recognize someone.
