Working in Linden
I currently live in LInden, and I believe that overall, Linden is a good community to live in! Linden has a mediocre public school system. However, middle schoolers at LInden have the opportunity to enter the local UCVTS high schools which are extremely advanced and are ranked as the top 100 high schools in LInden. OVerall, the housing prices in Linden are fairly expensive due to the fact that it is right next to New York.
I used to drive through Linden alot on the turnpike and 1&9 and I thought of it as a dirty little industrial city. When I saw the house we ended up buying I was amazed at how quiet and suburban the neighborhood was. Now after having lived here for 6 months my view of the town is completely different, and I'm SO happy we bought where we did. The neighbors were very friendly, people came up and introduced themselves, and welcomed us to the neighborhood. There is a train station w/trains to Newark/New Year. There is a beautiful main Street area, and Everything from Mom and Pop restaurant's to chain spots, to Wal Mart and Kohl's, and all the fast food in between, are literally under 5 minutes driving distance away. To boot 1&9, the parkway, and the Turnpike run through here. It's also the most diverse placed I've ever lived in my life, and I've been all over the country. And everyone gets along wonderfully. My neighborhood is also extremely safe and QUIET. Notheing happens here.
Overall, Linden is a great city to visit and even in fact to live. Linden combines a fine mixture between the suburbs and the city feeling. The city offers nearby access to main transportations like NJ transit which leads to other great major cities, for instance New York City. Also, the suburbs offer a comfy welcoming feeling that is perfect for raising a family. Along with nice homes, the district offers a profound education with solid teachers aside strong board members. In addition, Linden contains various clean parks for children and adults. The city has several department stores like Walmart, Target, Home Depot, Burlington, Old Navy, Kicks USA, and many more. Adults and even children can enjoy a fun night at the movies and grab a nice meal at Applebee's for a decent cost, all in the wonderful city of Linden.
