I lived in Linden, New Jersey for most of my life. Growing up here was fun as there is a park called Wheeler Park where many kids can play soccer and run around the playground or track. Almost every kid went so it was possible to run into your classmates. Growing up in Linden was fun but it got boring once you entered middle school. After you've outgrown the park, you realize there is not much to do. You could have your friends hang out at your house or meet at Target. Other than that there is not much to do. The neighborhood I live in is pretty quiet so that is another plus for me. I would say Linden is just your average suburb. Fun when you're a kid but boring once you get older.
It is a great city to live in. It has great public schools. The area is very calm and peaceful. The people living in Linden are very kind and friendly. It is a clean city which was important to me and my family. Furthermore, the safety of the city is very appreciated.
There are a lot of good restaurants around the area. A lot of variety of food. Linden has a plaza where you can find different markets. There is a huge Walmart!

Definitely not the best city in the surrounding area, but nowhere near the worst. There's plenty of local parks and trails for exercising on the edge of the city and the downtown are is neat with some pretty good pizza. No need to take the trip to New York just for that. Public schools have certainly improved throughout the last few years but there's still some room for improvement.
