Working in Lima
There is very little to do in Lima. The nearest malls are about 20 minutes from the village. Unless you go to Lima Christian, the public school, Honeoye Falls- Lima, is not even in the same county. There is a public library and a couple family owned restaurants. Also there are 2 gas stations, a country club, 2 or 3 churches, and a hair salon. On Tuesdays from about June to September there is a farmers market in town. Depending on which street you live on, neighbors in town are friendly. Outskirts of town can be isolating. Small town, population of around only 2,000. School district is pretty good, most teachers are nice and the students do well. Mostly conservative area, like most of upstate NY.
We don't have a local police dept, but the county Sheriff's dept and the Troopers are located close by and are available when needed.
I love the small town we live in. The only thing we really need right now is a new Grocery store. We are limited because currently we have to go to the next town for groceries and a drug store.
