I truly love my city of Lima, Ohio. It has a reputation of being a "small town" with a relatively low population of just under 40,000. In the past few years, I have seen new businesses form, new opportunities opened for urban youth, and I have seen a steady increase in cultural events and centers.
One downside to Lima is the increase in crime. Within the last 3-5 years, it seems like crime, and particularly drug use/sale crimes, have dramatically increased. I know it's not possible to change the world, but I do believe it's possible to try. I believe there is more that the community AND local government can be doing to better the lives and safety of its inhabitants. Lima is a strong community with a great history that should be revered, and one way to respect that history would be with a reform of how crime is handled.

Lima is a great college town filled with plenty of hidden opportunities to better yourself academically especially if you are interested in learning how cars/HVAC work and how to fix them!
I think if there were more craft/art events it would make the culture a bit more diverse.
I have lived in Lima my whole life. I can't say that it has been the worst place to live. It has its good points and its bad points just as many other places across the nation do. There are a variety of good places to eat, such as Kewpee and Happy Daz. The Regal Cinema Theater and the Westgate Lanes Bowling Alley are two of the big hot spots for things to do. I recommend keeping in contact with your neighborhood watch groups and taking all necessary precautions to stay safe as I would no matter where you live.
