Libertyville is a family-friendly community with wonderful schools. The downtown area is full of a variety of restaurants and shops, and there are a number of community events offered throughout the year.
Libertyville is great safe place to live, especially if you are raising kids. The downtown is great. Very convenient to lots of other cities.
It does lack diversity.
It does lack diversity.
Great experience here! Welcoming staff and great Greek food! Definitely a modern twist on traditional Greek dishes which makes this place unique and a place to try. I had the Pastitsio, it was big and hearty and full of flavor. Definitely want to come back and try the lamb chops! I invited you to come in
Libertyville is a wonderful place to live in. There are great schools and friendly people. I always feel safe here. It is a bit pricey but it is worth the cost.
Love Libertyville. School districts are fabulous. The community is safe and beautiful. Wonderful place to raise a family. Unfortunately, Libertyville's economy is structured around car dealerships and restaurants, and that's basically it. For your groceries or clothing shopping, you will likely be spending in other towns such as Vernon Hills.
Great food and people. The library is very modern, and the roads are nice. Lots of events hosted by the city.
Amazing town! Everybody here is so nice. Lots of diversity. School systems are awesome. The town offers numerous parks and things to do during free time.
Libertyville is a very nice town. There are many elementary schools and middle schools that feed into the high school. The high school is very good and tries to set it's students up for success. Libertyville has a very nice downtown area. This area is where the majority of the nightlife is. There are shops, restaurants, and bars in the downtown area. For children in the area, the town has many youth athletic clubs.
Great downtown area and Independence Grove is a gem. However residents are often unwelcoming and unfriendly. Absolutely no diversity (read: upper middle class, white, Christian) with subtle and sometimes overt racism and bigotry. Housing and taxes are also largely overpriced. Neighboring suburbs (Mundelein and Vernon Hills) are more welcoming and offer more diversity, lower cost of living, same great schools
I liked a lot of things about Libertyville. When I used to go downtown in Libertyville before I had moved there, it was gorgeous. They had many restaurants, boutiques, and art stores. I enjoy schooling and the people here too, they are very friendly and the school system is great here.
Libertyville is a great place to raise children. The schools are excellent, the town is quaint and clean and the overall vibe is pretty friendly. It isn't a very good place to be once the children are finished with the district schools because the property taxes and such are very high, but it makes for a wonderful schooling district. The train station is pretty close to where I live which makes it very easy to get into Chicago--only about an hour train ride, and the library is absolutely splendid (amongst other public service things). I highly recommend living here; I have enjoyed it over the last thirteen years.
I really like the neighborhood. Everyone is super friendly and willing to help when you need it. The availability of areas to visit is great too. Something that I would like to see change maybe be some of the school policies that are held or the extent of school rivalry we see.
A nice place to raise a family with excellent schools! Great community with a cute downtown area. I have enjoyed living in Libertyville my whole life. Not too far from the city either.
Classic small town with great comfort and community. The town is able to provide many local attractions and entertainment for everyone living in it. The Downtown Milwaukee area is not only aesthetically pleasing, it really reassures the town's safety- kids are able to walk to the local library or convenience store right after school worry free, and families are able to enjoy running or biking throughout too.
I love the town and the people here and how amazing the education is, yet there is a lot of pressure on the students here to be outstanding, it's a very big pond with lots of big fish.
Wonderful town, very good schools and organizations to get involved in. Price of housing varies around town. Good place for children to grow up in.
Libertyville has great schools, and Libertyville has a great location to many of the other towns and places throughout the north shore suburbs.
