Lexington Park is a pretty average and generally safe community. There aren't a lot of activities for kids and young people to do, but there are options.
One thing that I would like to improve in Lexington Park is the food selection. It would be great if their was a local farmers market. And there are a lot of fast food places so most people don't have the best resources to eat healthy food.
One of the best things about this area is its close proximity to a naval base. This provides a lot of jobs, and is the reason why this area is growing year after year and getting more resources for everyone.

Lexington Park is a great place, there is a lot to do from many shops to festivities on the Chesapeake bay. There is many local seafood restaurants that have the best seafood I've ever tried(and I've been to a lot of places). There is always events going on throughout the year that are hosted by many places such as: the Hollywood Fire Department, St. Mary's college, and the Calvert Marine Museum across the bridge. There is also a lot of job opportunities due to being right near the Patuxent River Naval Base.
I have lived here since my birth back in 1996. As far back as I can remember, my immediate neighborhood has been filled with crime and issues. However, a lot of the area around this neighborhood is actually quite nice. The parks are well maintained and have a lot to offer and a lot of the places you can go are in at least a decent shape. I have always been able to find something new in this neighborhood and enjoyed my experience here.
