Lexington, SC has a great school system and is growing rapidly! There are new neighborhoods popping up and much new business growth in the area. The only downfall to the area is the traffic in downtown Lexington. If you have been here a while you can navigate around the traffic. However, Town council is keeping this on the agenda to better. Come to Lexington for live, education of your children and a great economy!

Lexington’s high schools are truly exceptional. Between River Bluff and Lexington, the 2 rival high schools in town are filled with amazing sports teams and high test scores. There is very a friendly neighborhood vibe since it is a little southern town, with a broad diversity of nice people. As well as the beautiful relaxing lake that helps take stress away from a busy day at work or school. Lake Murray is pretty enough for anyone to enjoy, regardless of age. My only complaint is that Lexington doesnt have much to do wen the lake isn’t and option. The only thing to do is spend money on eating out, and personally I would like to see more walking places, such as local outdoor mini malls or more parks. In Lexington without a car it is practically impossible to get from one place to another. Since the roads have no sidewalk and most are very poorly designed in Lexington since it’s such an upcoming town with more and more traffic every day.
Lexington has a small Southern town feel with big city traffic. The people are very polite but have a narrow view of the world in general. The town is very conservative, mostly white and Protestant.

The Main Street area has recently gone through lots of renovation with new restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, and a beautiful, second to none amphitheater with regular entertainment. Most public schools in South Carolina aren't very good but Lexington is an exception.

Unlike Columbia, the town is very safe for the most part. It is very rare to ever hear of murder or violent crimes. The worst crimes are usually car break-ins.

There are ample parks and trails for a town this size including a very nice dog park. Lake Murray and the Saluda River are nearby for those interested in water recreation.

I can not give Lexington 5 stars because it's infrastructure has not kept up with its growth due to poor planning.
