If what you value most is affordability, then Lexington is the town for you! This is a sleepy town, with severely limited job opportunities; however, it's exceptionally affordable to rent a house/apartment, so most people choose to live here and then commute to one of North Carolina's larger cities. Healthy living isn't Lexington's strong suit, as most of the restaurants are known for their barbecued pork and other pork influenced dishes. There's no nightlife here either, and therefore, this town could be considered family friendly.
It’s a nice city to work and live in. It’s known for its barbecue which is awesome. There are a couple of places to shop as well to eat. It’s close to Salisbury, Charlotte and Winston Salem. If you are looking for a place to settle down, start a new job, or basically just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life Lexington is a good mood. If you are looking for some excitement then Greensboro and Charlotte are not so far away. A 30 minute drive from Greensboro and about an hour away from Charlotte. It’s a nice quiet country town that is pleasant.
Lexington is a wonderful and safe place to live, however there is often not very much to do. Luckily, Lexington's close relation to bigger cities means you don't have to travel far to find things to do. Also, Lexington is world famous for its amazing barbeque!
