Lewistown is not exactly a great town. It looks like a town that tried to become a city and gave up half way. There are some good restaurants like Kora's or Blvd BBQ, but most of the food is generic. There is a Mcdonalds, Subway, Dominos, Burger King, and Pizza Hut. I wish I didn't have to live here but seeing as I'm barely old enough to drive, it doesn't look like it will be changing here very soon. We have the highest rate of teenage pregnancies. Me and my parents live just outside of Lewiston in Reedsville. My parents don't even work near Lewistown. They dont even want to live hear and are waiting for my brothers and I to move out so they can move away. Honestly I can't blame them. I would not recommend living in Lewistown. If you want to live somewhere in the country side while having access to jobs not even 30 minutes away I would definitely recommend Reedsville.
There isn't much to Lewistown. All that we really have is a Weis store and a Walmart. There isn't much to do here and businesses don't seem to last. We use to have a school in our little town called South Hills School of Business and Technology. However, now if you want to further your education you either have to do it online or travel quite a distance. I wish we had little shops and a coffee shop on every corner. I just wish this place was a little more vibrant.
Easy access to the river for boating, tubing, and fishing. The community parks are pretty nice one has a pool and the other has a dog park. There are several state parks near by with lakes, swimming areas with sand, hiking trails, and camping areas. Traffic normally flows pretty steady. Its mostly safe. There really isn't much to do other than skating, bowling, or the movies for kids. I'd like the school district to get better. A few years ago there was a fountain put in in the downtown area along with plants and benches to attract more business to the area. There are a variety of places to eat from fast food to restaurants.
