Lehigh Acres Reviews
Rating 3.41 out of 5 222 reviews
A small town full of character and growing more popular and diverse each day. If you enjoy four wheeling, mudding, and the outdoors; this is the place to be. We finally have a Starbucks! LOL. My only wish is that there were more commercial properties developing so I wouldn't have to drive out 30 mins to go to the movies.
I have lived here my entire life. I have seen it decline in population to now, where it is skyrocketing. I feel that Lehigh was never designed to have such expansive growth. I say this because of the multitude amount of canals that prevent many imperative roads from connecting to ease traffic. For example, I live 18 miles from campus and during the season, I average an hour to an hour and a half one-way commuting. Even returning with less traffic, it would take about 30-45 mins. My job is about 56 miles one way, and during peak hours, it would take me about that long. I would like to see better infrastructure. During the recent hurricanes, I have gone over three weeks without water or electricity since I received well water. I would like to see more efforts to have more jobs put locally and improve our roads, intersections, and resources. Thank you.
I assume there is a political agenda and a lot of false statistics on here. As a former public servant in the area I can confidently tell you the crime and 3rd world poverty is more rampant than ever.
While there are of course a lot of good working class people who live in the town. They likely don't see the other world of terrible behavior that lives next door. It's deceiving because it's not overt like in Chicago, NYC, or LA. It's very subvert here.
Heroin and Fentanyl addiction are rampant. Homeless camps are everywhere, you just don't see them because they're deep in the woods.
Due to undocumented immigrants from the island nations, sex trafficking is a dark industry and rampant due to the rural "keep to yourself culture".
Murders / executions are very frequent. You just don't know about it because the news doesn't know about it.
There are over 100 group homes (in single family residences) with severely mentally ill people living right next door.
Good luck
