The atmosphere and friendliness of our city is wonderful. We have a population of around 91,000 people and still it feels like a big neighborhood, everyone knows everyone. Lakes day with boat rides and many opportunities to support local businesses and people. One thing I would love to change in Lees Summit is more encouragement in our local schools. I am studying to be a high school teacher to be a part of the change! I want students to be more encouraged to chase dreams instead of status quos and be equipt to achieve their dreams in their high school years. I love my city and I am so grateful it is a place I got to learn and become the person I am today!

I go to school at one of the high schools in Lee's Summit, and I can say that the schools are very diverse. There is a place for everyone to fit in. Lee's Summit is trying to build up their shopping scene in the area I live and it looks very nice. we don't have a shopping mall close by, but the strips are a very good place to hang out, get good food, and shop! The only down fall is the night life. Lee's Summit has a movie theater, and that one of the only places me and my friends can go to at night, other than to go eat. there are many job opportunities in Lee's Summit just because they are adding on a lot of stores to the shopping areas.
I like that Lee's Summit is steadily growing and relatively safe. This is a friendly environment to raise a family and there are plenty of churches around town to try! I wish that Lee's Summit did have more diversity, however that is something that I have seen grow over time and expect that it will continue to do so.
