I have lived in Ledyard for a little over a year and a half now. The people here are so welcoming and friendly, and always open to help one another. I love the people and how I am surrounded by nature. What I hope I hope to more of in the future is more places and opportunities for the towns people to connect with one another. Also would love to see less budgets towards the schools for it takes away from the child's learning experience. When classes are being cut which lessens their opportunities or seeing their favorite teachers be let go when they have been able to find someone to connect with that helps them succeed.

Our family moved to Gales Ferry section of Ledyard in 1993. We lived in our house for 2 years then moved away due to a Navy transfer. We returned to our CT home in 2001. Our children attended Ledyard schools from 2001-2016. We have blessed with good teachers, principals, coaches, and neighbors. We live on a quiet street, safe to walk our dogs, visit with neighbors, and share garden chores. My girls have made many friends through school, sports, and clubs. The Ledyard Public Libraries (2 branches) are both family friendly, have good summer reading programs. Ledyard has a good community spirit, friendly people, and many Navy active duty and military veterans. Ledyard High School has received many awards for its music and sports programs. We have met and worked with many teachers and coaches, it has strong academic program.
My family has lived in Ledyard,CT since July 2001. My sisters and I attended the Ledyard schools from K-12. Our family lives in the Gales Ferry section and are blessed by caring neighbors and 2 town libraries. There are many opportunities to participate in music and sports from elementary to high school level. I continue to visit with high school friends when home from college and study abroad. Ledyard is my home.
