Most of the local businesses are super friendly and community activists... Well that is anything not owned by Pleasnt. love Pumpkin Hill Bistro, Fargo is OK, Art center owners don't care about their employees too much but they are still face friendly. All the surrounding farms hire illegals for the hard labor, they keep the easier labor for friends and family. I'm not against the illegal immigrants, just wish the farmers had programs to make them full citizens since they utilize their labor so much. Bet the Farm has some good wine, and Macenzie Childs is the life that keeps Aurora alive, even if they underpay their employees and have them use harsh vapor paints in under venelatied rooms. It's got it's problems but it's still better then auburn, and for that I thank
Aurora.
Aurora.
There is so much nature here. State parks, camp grounds, open fields, lakes/beaches, everything you could want. There are a lot of forests and rivers as well as lakes so there is a big hunting/fishing population here, and many people own snowmobiles, fourwheelers, etc. and take advantage of the outdoors quite often, mainly because it's the only thing to do around here. There are some pollution concerns with hydro-fracking, but that depends on your political standing and evironmental views in whether or not you see it as an issue.
Not that the employers are all bad, Aurora Inn I'm looking at you, but lack of a big in market just due to rural nature is inevitable. Unless you want to be in agriculture, then almost limitless opportunities outside of the village. Thanks Cornell!!
