Lecanto is a nice place to live if you are older; however, if you are younger this is not the best place to live. It is rather difficult to find a job especially if you do not have a higher education. The people who live here are not very open-minded to a lot of peoples beliefs and generally who people are. If you need a place to settle down and don't mind racist people, perfect place for you! However if you are not that, it is not for you at all.
Great school system. More rural but close enough to cities for great shopping and hospitals. Fun local attractions; homosassa wildlife park, three sisters springs, hunter springs, weekie wachee springs (mermaids), great restaurants on the water. Family friendly. Good neighborhoods.
Having lived for a number of years in Lecanto, I consider it to be a safe environment for living and learning. Never before have I felt threatened in it. The schools I've attended, for the most part, are pleasant, the staff more than willing to give help and accommodations to those who need it. I cannot think of anything that is in need of changing, except for perhaps better traffic control.
