The city itself is very convenient, especially if you live within the city limits. The school systems are advancing in their way, but, surely things are changing for the better. Everything you need happens to be close and central. Shopping is excellent. There are many choices for vegans, meat eaters, and cheap stop-n-go places. The community is friendly in certain areas but, of course, there are dangerous areas to steer clear of for raising kids or retirement. The neighbors around us are quiet plus very private, but, we all look out for each other. The college the Lawton offers is terrific; it is the college I attend. The safety on campus is lovely, and the teachers and school officials are genuine; you can feel it on campus.

I wish people took pride in the town. When something new comes, it's not new we have two or three of them just in different locations. We need NEW places to eat and shop. Some who own large properties in this town don't want to give up the spot so areas look horrible. If these high rollers would make it possible for locals or out of town companies to buy the lot and create or bring new things in, we would be able to have more jobs and certain areas wouldn't look so run down. It's sad when we drive to OKC, Norman, or Tulsa just to shop or eat at a different place. That means we're using more gas and there are tolls. It makes no sense to me.

Thank you
I like that it still feels small town but has big town shopping. You always see your friends at the mall or Walmart and even Taco Bell has lots of yiur friends there!
Lawton has Cameron College and a VoTech.
Not far from a great wildlife refuge where you can see Buffalo and Longhorns, Elk and Prairie Dogs!
