Living in Lawrence was one of the best experiences of my life. Neighborhoods and apartments are affordable but high-quality and. there were numerous private and public schools to choose from (driving distance).
The area was (at least to my knowledge) quite safe, with recreation being emphasized (trail by my apartment complex, park 10 minutes away), and I always appreciated the area's diversity--I met so many interesting people from all walks of life in my own apartment building and at the local furniture store where my mother worked.
It is also great that Lawrence just between downtown Indianapolis and the booming towns of Carmel, Fishers, and Noblesville, so there are plenty of opportunities for all kinds of work (as well as career advancement). I would highly recommend living here both as a young single person and as a family.

I like living in Lawrence small town big city. Great shopping even without a mall. Quiet neighborhoods. Great Mom and Pop small businesses. Plenty of activities for families. Lots of open fields farms land . Great schools and Lawrence always hold great events for families, parades and farmer markets.
Lawrence Township Schools have pretty good education systems; the students aren't bombarded with too many standardized tests and the majority of teachers are high quality and highly qualified. The schools each have a specialization, for example, Winding Ridge Elementary is focused on performing arts and Oaklandon is focused on environmental science. Around Lawrence, police can be seen making rounds almost every day, but they aren't aggressive, so it feels safe. In nearly every area around Lawrence, there are sit-in restaurants, fast food restaurants, and grocery stores within 5 minutes of driving. There's a lot of entertainment areas too, like laser tag venues and arcades.
