I love the friendly atmosphere. It is clean and safe. On Friday nights, there are usually live bands playing at the pier. The pier has a restaurant with a great location and delicious food!

Lauderdale by the Sea is a 2 mile stretch of pure paradise located along the beautiful ocean waters. Its a mixture of mom and pop shops with modern restaurants and business. Regardless of the variety all the businesses are small and quaint. Most of the restaurants are located on the water and those that are not are in walking distance away. One of my favorite ocean front restaurants is Aruba Beach cafe. Aruba has a home town feel, great entertainment and terrific food all while viewing the beauty ocean and pier. 101 ocean is also another great spot known for its variety of beer and hangout for locals. If you crave a sweet treat Kilwins ice cream is an experience you'll never forget with its unique variety of ice cream and homemade fudge. Also, if your looking for fastfood without the greasy McDonalds feel Keese's Mediterranean and American cuisine is the best hole in the wall I've gratefully discovered for absolutely delicious homemade grub. In addition, LBTS has every store you need such as Walgreens, 7 Eleven, Publix, Family Dollar, Yoga studios, Hardware stores, Medical facilities, etc. The ocean view, smell of salt water and sunshine make you feel like your on vacation 24/7. If you live here you find yourself sometimes forgetting reality entirely.
Considering Lauderdale by the Sea is only 2 miles the job market is very good. Most teens or younger adults work in the local restaurants, coffee shops or grocery markets. Young adults that are in the peak of their careers usually work outside LBTS in the surrounding Fort Lauderdale areas at local businesses or in the medical field. Several of my friends work in Holy Cross hospital located 1 mile away. There are plenty of jobs for retired adults such as beach clean up or jobs with the city.
