We moved to Larchmont in 2016 from Brooklyn and could not be happier! Our top 10 reasons for recommending Larchmont: very walkable (our kids now ages 9-12 walk and bike everywhere!), excellent public schools, proximity to the city, beautiful homes with a diversity of architecture and access to both the water and the woods, many great restaurants (by Suburban standards, not Brooklyn!), tons of family friendly community events, decent size international community, friendly, open minded and welcoming community.
LARCHMONT is a wonderful place to live: great schools, nice restaurants, charming homes and some excellent parks.
LARCHMONT stands out from the crowd for two reasons: it’s proximity to NYC and it’s waterfront. The half hour train ride to midtown Manhattan is convenient by New York standards; Manor Park lines the waterfront. The only problem is that it’s too expensive and not at all diverse.

I've lived in Larchmont my entire life and have enjoyed a peaceful time in this town. There are plenty of quaint shops and dining places, as well as parks to spend time with nature in. This town could use more diversity. The public school district is pretty good.
