Langley is a quaint tourist trap that is controlled by aging burnt-out ex-hippies. Despite being very liberal in political and social views, they have a deep distrust of anything unfamiliar and resist any attempts to change. "Don't trust anyone over thirty" has turned into "don't trust anyone under fifty". Forget about living here if you're not independently wealthy or willing to commute "over town", you can't afford it.
A quaint, little seaside village with excellent restaurants, friendly people, & beautiful scenery. Highly recommend visiting Langley from Spring - Autumn. Not a great choice to live for anyone under the age of 35 or low-income. Housing is incredibly expensive due to high taxes & ocean views. Typically quiet, unless a local fair, festival, concert, etc. is going on. No nightlife what-so-ever, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Most stores close by 7 p.m.
