I have lived here my whole life. I have seen the very significant changes that have occurred in the downtown of Lancaster. Downtown Lancaster is really the only good part of Lancaster. Rising Park is pretty cool too but its a little dangerous. I also am on the cross country team for my school, and we often run around town. The sidewalks in town are laughably bad and really need to be improved. Overall, Lancaster is not too bad but can be significantly improved.
Plenty of Museums to learn about Grant. Great parks with a lot of beauty. Schools are great! During July we have a wonderful event that gets every one participating. They have an art walk/ Many musical concerts from all kinds of genre. Then the county fair is amazing. The 4=H participation here is the best in Ohio. The Fair has many activities such as horse racing, Horse pulls and Tractor pulls. Concerts from every genre.
Lived most of my left here until recently, people who say this town is awesome and there is tons to do have probably never been anywhere else, ever, and I don't understand how one's expectations can be so low. Sadly that was the case for me, and I didn't realize how negatively my outlook on life had been shaped by that place. It's seriously depressing. Other than Rising, parks are meh. Not a safe or convenient walking town (terrible sidewalks/outdated infrastructure, junkies, massive homeless problem, ask the librarians how that's going!) a huge bedbug problem and tons of auto break-ins. I hear now that the usual slumlords are charging WAY too much for rent due to the outrageously inflated RE market.
