Being a small town, Lamesa has taught me many things. I have learned the importance of faith, family, and friends just from my many experiences in town. That being said just like any other city or town Lamese has certain things that can be changed or improved, including the excessive amount of gang activity and drug abuse.

Lamesa is a good place to live. It is primarily a farming town, though some young people do work in the oilfield. Most of the people who live here are working people, and they are quite friendly. It is a good place to raise a family. The schools are good and there is a good deal of interest and support for the sports teams. There is also a good amount of community involvement, too. It takes about an hour or less to drive to Lubbock or Midland.
Lamesa is not the best place. Schools are not great. There’s nothing for kids to do, no shopping center like Walmart. Lots of people are leaving. ..........................................................................
