I enjoy the area of Lakewood where I live very much! My apartment faces west and I am nestled right up next to the beautiful Rocky Mountains. The location is really great because it's away from all the hustle and bustle of the city of Denver, but close enough to all the major highways that I can commute around easily. My favorite part about the where I live in Lakewood is by far Bear Creek Reserve which is miles of open space, trails, hills, and a rushing roving just in my back yard! ... And I can't forget that only miles away there is also the infamous Red Rock Amphitheater, which is a spectical like no other music venue you've been to which is always sure to entertain the crowds all summer long!

Lakewood is a very laid back, settling family type of a town. There are many young families as well as generations of grand families. The areas are always safe and very low crime rate compared to Denver, which is located right by Lakewood. There are many local strip malls and so far it may sound like a smaller city, however, in fact it is a pretty modernized and standard city of 2017. There are good cuisines around the malls and people are very friendly and helpful. The only reason to why I rated it as a four star, is because sometimes traffic can be a pain. Overall it is a pretty great city!
Lakewood is the perfectly situated, very large suburb. 15 minutes from Denver, 20 minutes from the foothills, you've got access to all the different aspects of Colorado life. It is a large suburb, with many different neighborhood subsets, and you definitely need a car to live here. Generally quite safe, most stores and restaurants close by 8-10 pm so the nightlife is minimal. A variety of affordable living depending on budget, from very expensive to very affordable. A nice place to grow up!
