The school district is highly rated, good sports programs and services for gifted as well as special needs children. The people are generally nice, however, sports are VERY competitive and internally political it's a who's who popularity contest.
The town is politically mixed hard to say if it leans one way or another. Great conveniences and local eateries we've enjoyed living here overall its a decent suburb for most. We just specifically have other opinions about what we are looking for as a lifestyle and upbringing for our family such as religion, character and values.

I've lived in Lakeville for about 11 years with my family. My husband grew up here. We love the area. It's perfect distance from the cities; access to the Mall of America, many movie theaters, restaurants and other entertainment options. Lakeville itself has a wonderful variety of parks and playgrounds. There are multiple hiking and camping locations within a couple hours from here, too.
The Lakeville school district's educational program is fantastic. Offering a great gifted and talented option for students, quality sports and Community Ed programs . I have issues with how slowly the school and city are updating their stance on racism/social justice. There are disparities in the district - pushing equity is very needed. It's the most disappointing part of living here.
Other than that Lakeville is a beautiful, growing city with a small town feel.

I enjoy residing in Lakeville. It is clean and taken well care of. There are plenty of parks to visit and activities to do during all the seasons. Not to mention, Lake Marion in Antlers Park is a great place to visit, especially in the evening when the sun is setting. It's a beautiful view. Another place I enjoy visiting in the fall is Applewood Orchard. You can pick your own apples and they sell delicious apple cider donuts. Lakeville overall feels pretty safe and is super family-friendly. Although Lakeville is a good city I would like to see one specific change. The city of Lakeville should add more sidewalks for the people, especially where some of the slightly older houses are at.
