I always had the idea that I had to live in a big city, considering I grew up in inner-city Minneapolis; I wanted to go to school in a big city, have a job in a big city, and raise my kids in a big city. I had this notion that there was no culture in small towns because they were isolated from the rest of the world, but I was ever so wrong. Sure, the closest mall is a half an hour drive, and downtown is an hour, but I wouldn't pass anything up for the experience and close knit community that exists. There is just as much culture here as there is in the city--you just have to dive in, which in turn creates more opportunities and adventures. It's all about the experience.

Several of the city's cops will come into coffee shops and chat with guests whether they do or do not know them. The police seem to always have the goal to not only make everyone within the city feel comfortable and safe, but to go one step further and create personal relationships. It is a small city, so it isn't too often that crimes occur, but when they do they are promptly and thoroughly taken care of. This is the safest city I've lived in out of the four I have throughout my life.
I live in a somewhat isolated area from others, but those who live in close proximity of each other are constantly talking and offering to one another. Once people arrive in the area, it is rare that they leave, which is why it is such a growing community. People often move here to raise their children because it is a great area and there are amazing schools. Almost every household has little ones running around and usually have pets as well.
