Lake Ronkonkoma is a neighborhood where blue collar workers to professionals in Law and Medicine reside. It is known for a Lake where in the 1950's was a resort and visitors from NYC and New England would vacation. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore. The pollution rate, in the last several years, has affected the Lake where swimming is banned. It's beautiful. LRIG ( Lake Ronkonkoma Improvement Group) and Lake Ronkonkoma Civic Association are trying to restore it. My family are members of both groups. We aren't an affluent community, local businesses are our mainstay . Raynor Park houses the Michael Murphy Memorial. He was a Navy Seal who lost his life in Afghanistan. He was awarded the Medal of Honor. We are proud to memorialize this native and give thanks.

Great place to live and raise a family. Schools are great, shopping is fantastic, accessibility to city is convenient. This area is a hidden gem!!!!
Ronkonkoma is a very reserved quiet place. There are many convenient places to shop. Living in Ronkonkoma gives you access to many main roads and ways of public transportation. Developments and communities are respectful and positive.
